Geotab is a leading telematics company and has been a TU20 partner since 2018. Apart from being a transportation and smart city leader, Geotab engages in a number of community events including supporting youth and women in stem initiatives.

March 2018

The 2nd annual TU20 Cup was centered around the theme of Smart Cities, with teams pitching solutions to fix parking, potholes, traffic, etc. Geotab, as one of the largest telematics outfits in the world, sponsored this event. Mike Branch and Rafael Nazareno from Geotab also joined us to share their expertise on “Transportation Data for Smart Cities” and judging.

May 2018

Learn2GetHired equips students with the knowledge needed for employment. In 2018, Geotab sent Pieter Venter, VP of Software Engineering, and Mickey Ngo, Talent Acquisition Specialist to share their experiences with our members.

June 2018

In 2018, TU20 launched the Fellowships program with the goal of providing funding for student entrepreneurs. Geotab sponsored the Fellowships program with Brenda Nguyen mentoring Calvin Mozola. Calvin successfully used the Geotab Open Data API to help city planners visualize and prevent unnecessary idling.

June 28, 2018

Geotab ran the Youth In Tech event, offering a tour of their global headquarters and hosting a meet and greet with CEO Neil Cawse. The event centered around navigating careers and education post-high school.

March 2019

Geotab is dedicated to improving opportunities and representation for women in STEM. And as a part of their Women in Stem program, Geotab donated 10 free tickets for the TU20 Cup. The tickets were won by girls from all over the GTA area, who joined the event to help brainstorm prototypes that will help charities in Oakville. Along with the funding of free tickets, Geotab also became a Silver Level Sponsor for the Cup.

May 2019

Each year Learn2GetHired equips students with the necessary skills to find summer employment and also helps them network with local employers. Annie Mathew, Fiona Zhao and Gordana Jekic represented Geotab and helped interview high-achieving students in the TU20 community.

March 2020

Geotab sponsored the 4th annual TU20 Cup, where students got the opportunity to devise solutions for climate change. TU20 Expo is a day filled with networking, receiving guidance from industry experts and discussing the most prevalent technologies of the status quo. Mike Branch represented Geotab in this 3-day event and gave a keynote on the latest innovations in Fleet Tracking Management.
